Pensionable pay

The definition of pensionable pay under the 2014 Scheme is not vastly different to that under the 2008 Scheme with one exception - from 1 April 2014 non-contractual overtime became pensionable under the CARE scheme along with pay received for additional hours worked.

One other minor change is that any actual pay paid by a Scheme employer to a reservist during Reserve Forces Service Leave is not pensionable.

Please note: Non-contractual pay still remains non-pensionable under the Final Salary regulations. However contractual overtime is still deemed to be pensionable.
